Packaging the LauraStar

1.      Drain Boiler.

2.     On Evolution models (black/grey boilers) you may need a small Phillips screwdriver to remove 1 screw at back of boiler, or a large straight screw driver to turn locking dial counter clockwise to the open position, (a coin like a quarter also can be used).  Lift boiler up and away off of board legs and iron from iron drawer for shipping.  OR if you have any S-Model (white boiler) it may have flanges attached at each side leg with a wing nut and screws… remove these and keep your wig nuts and screws with you.

3.    DO NOT SEND outer plastic water tank, any loose parts, detachable Teflon soleplate, or loose accessories.

4.     Wrap boiler and iron in LARGE BUBBLE WRAP; please DO NOT use loose popcorn, Styrofoam, dress material, or plastic, ONLY LARGE BUBBLE WRAP.

5.     Recommended box size is 10”X10”X36”, any box larger that this will cause package to be rated at a 20 Lb. rate by UPS.  The newest 2006-current models (S3, S4, iS5, S4e, and Pulse) will require a box the size of 12”X12”X31” will be needed.

6.     Include a short letter***

a.     Symptoms for cause of repair

b.     Daytime phone# you can be reached at

c.     Name unit is registered under (in some cases this could be a business name)

d.     Proof of purchase if in warranty period

e.     Address to be shipped back to

7.     If shipping by UPS or any other shipper we suggest you insure your package, if UPS loses or damages it, they will only pay you $100.00 (to be covered by UPS insurance product must be wrapped in 2 inches of bubble wrap… LARGE BUBBLE WRAP is the best choice).

8.     Ship to the above address, ATTN: Service Dept. with your RA#
